I had a very varied week last just finished, with some infrared photography in Edinburgh, to enhance my infrared photography in Scotland project, then a big 2 day corporate medical conference photography commission in Edinburgh with NHS Education for Scotland. Lots of great speakers and really good to catch up with my former colleagues at NES. As a professional corporate event photographer in Edinburgh and around Scotland, I hear all sorts of presentations and although I am obviously concentrating on the photography, I do take in some interesting stuff. At the weekend, a little bit out of my comfort zone with some newspaper sports photography in Penicuik, for the Midlothian Advertiser. As a sports photographer, it helps if you love sport, which I do, although we cant like every sport and photographing cricket is a bit out of my comfort zone, as I am by no means a cricket fan. It is, however very interesting to photograph, with some unique challenges from a photographic perspective, ie the distance from the participants, the restrictions facing the photographer, the challenge of making sure you get the ball in the shots etc. However, it is still sport and I enjoy adapting to different environments. I can even see the appeal to cricket, to be honest. A few cricket shots now added to my website and one attached to this blog
Anyway, until next time.
