Hi All
It's great being an Edinburgh photographer in this weather. I had an interesting photoshoot during the week when I had a bit of time, the day after my corporae event headshots photoshoot in NHS Education for Scotland, I went up the Pentlands with my infrared camera and my Fuji. It was the infrared photos that worked well. I had to trudge through snow but it was well worth it, with magnificent views at the top and an interesting encounter with some highland cows, although one of them looked as if it was going to charge me at one point. Due to the cold weather, I had a very short time to take photos and this is where preparation and experience come into play, you can't spend time grappling with the settings on your camera when it is ice cold, you must have a strong vision of what you are going to do well in advance of the photoshoot.
Anyway, next week more corporate event photography in Edinburgh and a corporate photography commission in Glasgow.

Last week I had a conference photography assignment in Edinburgh and more landscape photography around Scotland, particularly infrared photography, to build on my Infrared Photography in Scotland Project. However this week I am going to talk briefly about corporate headshots In Edinburgh, this is a service I provide for companies and I will be doing a headshot photoshoot for NHS Education for Scotland, one of my main corporate event photography clients in Edinburgh. Although I have invested in lighting and backdrops, I sometimes think it can be better to utilise the natural background more often, using the backdrop props which tell you something about the organisation, it's also important to keep a similar background for each member of staff, this looks so tidier on their website and gives a more professional appearance. Often the corporate logo can feature, or the type of work the employee does. The only exception to the rule of consistency applies to the Chief Executive, this should reflect their character and can vary from the rest of the staff.

Hi All
Back into the swing of things again, thank goodness, first junior football games of the year, with Tranent v Dunbar, my home team on saturday. This year, I am hoping to combine my HDR and infrared photography in Scotland with sport and other areas of photography where you wont expect it ie conference photography in Edinburgh and corporate photography in my travels around Scotland. I have an NHS photoshoot this week to start the new year and lots of PR and event photography coming up. This year, I plan to expand my client base and to invest in some medium format gear soon, to take my landscape photography to new heights. I also have some new projects in mind and hope to get out and about more in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee for more street photography in Scotland. Hi All
Hope you had a good new year. This is the time of year when people start to complain about having to get back to normal, but to be honest, I can't wait to start on some photography commissions and things kick of with a corporate photoshoot in Edinburgh early next week, followed by a vet photoshoot in the Borders. Like everyone else I make the usual new year resolutions at this time of year, but I also reflect on the year, which was easily the most varied of my career, from wedding photography in Edinburgh, to infrared photography in Scotland, sports photography, including the European Touch Rugby Championships in Edinburgh, corporate conferences in Edinburgh and landscape photography on the Isle of Skye, Oh and bungeee jumpers, fast cars, horses, Segways and a bit of newspaper photography. Hopefully this year will bring more of the same and new challenges. Anyway, until next time, I will leave you with one of my most successful photos on Instagram, where I conquered my fear of heights to photograph a marriage proposal at the Scott Monument in Edinburgh.

Hi All
Hope you had a great Christmas and that the New Year brings good things to you. I am taking a well earned rest, well if you can call looking after the kids a rest, still all good fun. Had a good end to the year with a corporate vet photoshoot in the Borders and as an event photographer in Edinburgh, a very enjoyable commission with the Edinburgh Rock music group in Gullane, photo attached. Looking forward to a couple of good corporate photography jobs in Edinburgh over the New Year and another vet photoshoot, also I will be expanding on my personal projects with infrared photography in Scotland and more landscape photography, hopefully some medium format digital photography in Edinburgh soon. There will also be more PR and event photography in Edinburgh to look forward to. At this time of year we reflect on the past and future. With this probably my best year since going full time freelance, I hope to expand even more and to continually strive to provide my personal, corporate and event clients with a bespoke high quality service.
