Hi All

A quick blog today, looking at what not to do if you are a professional event photographer in Edinburgh or around Scotland, when you photograph conferences or any type of events.  Corporate photography can be enjoyable but also very challenging.  its a bit like wedding photography, in that you have to ensure you capture all the important moments and you must be able to get on well with people.  Just to concentrate on the negative for a change, here are a few dont's:

1. Don't keep photographing the same people constantly, when they clearly need some time to themselves

2. Do not always use flash if there is an option to shoot without it sometimes, its less irritating for the participants

3. Do not keep going all the time without stopping, both you and the participants need a breather sometime

4. Do not take underestimate preparation before the event ie batteries, cleaning cameras and lenses, checking it all works beforehand

5. Don't take the same type of shots all the time - keep changing angles etc during the event and try new things each time you are commissioned.  It is your duty as an artist and photographer to try and break new ground and do something original
