Photographers and Moving Out of the Comfort ZoneHi Everyone As I prepare for a possible move away from East Lothian to East Dunbartonshire, I can reflect on the 15 years I have spent in East Lothian and what a brilliant place it is for professional photographers to live and work. Whilst most of my paid photography commissions involve corporate PR and conference photography around Scotland, I also do landscape and infrared fine art photography in East Lothian and Scotland and this location has been ideal. However, whilst I will miss the area and the convenient closeness to the coastal areas, it will be good for me to relocate and move out of my comfort zone. You tend to repeat yourself if located in the one place, especially recently without the ability to travel. Moving nearer to Glasgow will provide me with the opportunity to update my urban photography images and there is no better city than Glasgow. I will also be more central and closer to the Highlands and Islands and Stirling, not to mention the Campsie Fells and Loch Lomond and I will still be within shouting distance of Edinburgh. All in all, more central for photographic commissions in Scotland. So onwards and upwards. Until next time. Kind Regards Colin www.colinwrightphotography.co.uk www,edinburghphotographer.com
