Hi All

As a professional event and fine art photographer from Scotland, like all freelancers and pretty much all of us to be honest, this is an extremely difficult time, especially if you have financial worries and children to cope with, add to that elderly relatives and it isn't easy.  However, I still think there is time for creativity and on my daily allowed wanders I have often taken the opportunity to add to my infrared photography in Scotland project, in preparation for my new book on infrared photography from this great country we live in.  As we all know during this time, there are days when you just cant summon up the enthusiasm to do anything, let alone demonstrate your creativity.  Sometimes, however, the fact fact that you are forced to concentrate on your geographical location can often lead to some some really creative images and that is what I have been trying to achieve in my hometown of Dunbar in East Lothian during this lockdown.  You have to be quick as you cant really stand around under the current circumstances, but it still allows you to keep your eye on your photography.  So chin-up and all that, we shall overcome.

Hi Everyone

Hope you are all coping during these difficult times.  With all my conferences cancelled for at least the spring time, this puts a temporary halt on professional conference and event photography work in Scotland for the time being, I have a bit more time on my hands, although not too much with 2 children in the house.  However, now is the time to concentrate on a little bit of infrared photography around my local town of Dunbar, in East Lothian, Scotland. On my walks I have managed a few infrared photos along the Belhaven coast and Dunbar.  I am also in the process of completing text for my new book, which I hope to self publish, although I have had some positive responses from some publishers.  I am now about to choose the images for the book, happy to take on any suggestions, the only stipulation is that they were taken in Scotland, as the book is a means of showcasing this amazing country we live in.  It is a kind of alternative guide book for tourists and infrared photography fans.  The photos will consist of colour and black and white images, with a short description of the location/conditions etc.  I will also start the book by providing a brief description in the Introductory paragraph on how infrared photography works and why I got into it.  So watch this space.
