Hi All

This is very much a story of weather in our beloved Scotland.  Once again all the games were cancelled for my newspaper photography shift in Midlothian at the weekend.  As a professional freelance and event photographer in Edinburgh, Scotland, this is part of life and at least I get to shoot sports events all year round, with a host of events waiting for me in the summer, such as motor sports, athletics etc. I also have the Scottish Taekwondo Championships to photograph at the end of the month. The conference season has also started again and I am looking forward to some corporate conference photography in Scotland this week and next.

The Infrared photography in Scotland project continues and I will be delivering some East Lothian landscape photos and infrared images to Thurston Manor for display in one of their function rooms, later today.   Here is a recent infrared photograph with this blog, see the weather hasn't been bad all the time.

Hi Everyone

As we move into February, its the start of the outdoor season, with more light available.  As a landscape photographer in Scotland, there will be plenty of opportunities for landscape and infrared photography in Scotland.  So for this weeks photo, I have decided to re-visit an earlier corporate photography Scotland commission I had at Loch Fyne for Scottish Enterprise.  It was a fine autumn day and the job involved photographing journalists from China at the Oyster Bar at Loch Fyne and then of to the Loch to view the whole process of catching the fish, right through to cooking from start to finish(more photos from the kitchen and the venue on my website at www.colinwrightphotography.co.uk)  Its one of my favourite landscape photography destinations and I look forward to returning soon.  Here is an infrared photo from the shoot.

This week, I have a corporate photography event commission in Edinburgh and conference photography in Glasgow.  I am also preparing some landscape images to be displayed following a brief at Thurston Manor, near Dunbar.  This will mean up to 14  of my landscape photographs from East Lothian and Edinburgh will be displayed on the site.  Looking forward to this.  Then to end the week, some newspaper photography in Midlothian.

Hi All

As a freelance corporate event photographer in Edinburgh, I had another busy week with a corporate event in Edinburgh during the week, some infrared photography in Central Scotland and finishing of with some newspaper/PR photography on Saturday.  The weather was pretty awful on Saturday but at least some of the games were on.  It can be a bit of a struggle on these kind of days, as you are constantly trying to keep your gear dry, keep warm yourself and the light is poor, which can create problems for sports photographers in Scotland, especially later on in the day, however, never give up as you dont know what you are going to get on the day.  I was lucky enough to be well positioned for an incident in the Dalkeith football game I was covering and caught a player and goalie mid air, photo attached, hopefully it will be in the Midlothian Advertiser this week.

Anyway, this week, some more newspaper photography in Edinburgh, a conference photography n Glasgow and I keep searching for the perfect picture with my infrared photos in Scotland
