Self Isolation and the Professional Photographer in Scotland

March 28, 2020  •  Leave a Comment

Hi Everyone

Hope you are all managing to get through this difficult time without cracking up.

As a professional corporate and event photographer working in Scotland, I read a lot about how to use this time wisely to develop as professional photographers, however this is easier said than done if you have children in the house, or you are worried about elderly relatives.  It is important to force yourself to try and bring a normality to the situation if you can.  I obviously can’t take any conference photography assignments in Edinburgh just now, but I can photograph infrared when I go on my one walk a day and we do live by the sea, so I am fortunate in that sense.  You can also post on social media and talk to your fellow photographers.  It is important to try and stay positive as we will get through this.  If anything you can use the time to think, what future photography projects you aim to tackle, also tidy up your workspace, practice on that software you have hardly touched.

Anyway above all else, stay safe.

Kind Regards

Colin
