As a professional photographer based near Edinburgh, I keep emphasising that one of the reasons I love this job is the variety and this week has been another case in point. I have just finished photographing a Supercar photo event at Ingliston, Edinburgh at the weekend, great weather and a good day. I will be doing some food photography this week near Edinburgh, with some corporate headshot photos in Edinburgh in the near future on the horizon and I have been continuing with my infrared photos, to boost my infrared photography in Scotland project, even trying some infrared sports photography with some wakeboarding. I was pleased to see one of my images accepted by the Creative Infrared Group (the photos can be viewed in Instagram, just type in Creativeir)This is a worldwide infrared specialist organisation and it is always an honour to have a photograph accepted, the one chosen is attached to this blog and was taken near Foxlake in a forest in East Lothian. I have a corporate event photography conference next week in Edinburgh and also some music photography coming up soon, so its all go.

Hi All
As a professional photographer from Scotland, this was a busy week again, starting with some conference event photography in Edinburgh, landscape photography in Scotland and great weather to do more and more infrared photos, as part of my Infrared Photography in Scotland project. The week finished with a long but very enjoyable day photographing bungee jumpers at the Riverside Transport Museum in Glasgow, great weather and a good crowd. If I ever doubt my dedication to photography then Saturday proved my commitment, or rather obsession. I left Dunbar about 6am, the jumpers went on until 7.30pm, I had half an hour for lunch, but during this time I took some infrared photos of the Clyde at the Riverside Museum. After finishing and a long drive home, there was a sunset at Belhaven in Dunbar, so I stopped and walked to the coastline and took some landscape photos before getting home exhausted my 10pm. Mad or dedicated, you decide, a normal person would probably have rested in the half hour lunch.
This week, more supercars at the weekend, some food photography Edinburgh and meeting clients to discuss their wedding photography in East Lothian, hope the weather holds out.

Hi All
The sun is finally shining, great time to be a professional photographer in Scotland, so I have been out there photographing infrared images in Edinburgh and East Lothian, to boost my infrared in Scotland photography project. Also I was honoured to receive a phone call from the organiser of the Lammmermuir Festival, who will be using one of my landscape photos of Belhaven Bay, just outside Dunbar. This Festival held in September is wonderful cultural event in the East Lothian and Scottish calendar for that matter, representing a wide range of theatre, music and arts, looking forward to it. Also some bunjee jumping photography in Glasgow at the weekend, cant wait and some corporate event conference photography in Edinburgh next week. I have also been updating my urban street photography stock images out and about in Scotland and hope to get them on the website as soon as possible, some new ones from Edinburgh taken on Friday.

Hi All
Probably my busiest 5 days of the year as a professional commercial photographer in Edinburgh, with a corporate event photography commission in Edinburgh on Thursday and Friday with NHS Education for Scotland, some infrared photography in East Lothian, followed by some wakeboarding sport photography and finishing with a Supercar event. hence the reason for the late blog. Attached is a car photo from a recent event, I decided to convert to black and white and give it a kind of grainy film look about it, what do you think?
I am busy editing all this work and hope to have a wee rest at the weekend, but photographers never really rest do they. I always carry a camera with me and although this is not such a big deal since mobile phones were invented, it still gives me the edge over the mobile phone photos, I hope, sorry I don't care how the high the megapixel count is, they just aren't as good as real cameras, especially when you decide to print, or when objects are moving, or low light photography. More infrared photography soon, some infrared photography in East Lothian and bungee jumping photos in Glasgow. - watch this space.

Hi All
This is the start of what will be a busy week. My infrared photography is selling well and plans will soon be made to convert a Nikon D800 into infrared, with a view to have poster sized enlargements of my infrared images, to further enhance my Infrared Photography in Scotland project. The reason I am delaying the conversion, is I want to try out the Nikon D800 at a conference photography commission in Edinburgh for NHS Education for Scotland on Thursday and Friday of this week. As a professional event photographer in Scotland, you have to be on the look out to try new gear, techniques and ways of working, in order to move forward. Although I am mainly a Canon user, I also use Fuji and Panasonic Lumix equipment and used to be a Nikon user. In fact I have been tempted by Nikon recently for my infrared work and may start considering them for other commissions.
Enough of my waffle, busy end to the week with some sports photography and say hello if you see me with my infrared camera, as the weather is pretty good for it these days.
