Hello All

As a professional event photographer in Edinburgh, its always good to get a busy week and this certainly is one coming up.  It starts of with some interior photography at the Rocks Bar and Restaurant in Dunbar on Monday, then some conference photography in Edinburgh on Wednesday, then wedding photography in Glasgow at the weekend.  I cant wait, I love these kind of weeks.  The last fortnight, what with the weather and other call-offs, I have a a bit of time to get come newspaper photography in the storms, also some creative urban photography in Edinburgh and infrared photography in East Lothian, so I am spoilt for choice for the blog photo this month, but I have chosen a photo that has received a lot of attention on social media.  One of the reasons I like social media is the ability to test your images to determine the response, if they receive a lot of positive comments, it is generally a good sign and this one did, which means I will include it in my next exhibition, particularly if it is an infrared exhibition.  I also think it has rekindled my obsession for puddle photography, something I started over 10 years ago.  I like the idea you can make a small puddle seem like Loch Ness if the camera is close enough.

Dear All

Hurrah, whilst the weather is still pretty rotten, the signs are that we can all get back to normal, because as we know it, us freelance professional photographers in Scotland can get a bit twitchy when we cant travel top take photos and professional corporate photoshoots in Edinburgh are cancelled due to the weather, however it gives you that opportunity to interact more on social media, re-assess your long term plans and work on these photos you have been meaning to edit.  Also you may get some press and newspaper photography images if you are lucky.  This week I will have the remainder of one these jobs I am referring too, when I photograph a hotel interior in East Lothian.  We couldn't complete the job, as the images depicting the window and the outside landscape wouldn't have created the right image with snow and all sort of rotten weather in the backround.  I also have a conference photography commission in Edinburgh next week and some wedding photography in Glasgow.  Anyway, until next time I have attached an infrared photo I took in Germany, as part of my infrared photography in Scotland project, that I worked on during the weather downtime and in between mediating between fights my children were having, due to boredom caused by the school closures.

Hi Everyone

As a professional photographer in Edinburgh and around Scotland, I have had a really busy week on my return from Germany, where I managed to capture some good infrared photos as part of my infrared project, although this time abroad, first time I have photographed infrared abroad and it was good fun.  The week saw some corporate photography on my return to Scotland, photographing food, rooms and some interactive shots of the Chef at the Rocks Bar and Restaurant in Dunbar, East Lothian, then of to the re-launch of the Belhaven Smokehouse in East Lothian, a great day and thanks to Sandy, Pauline and David for a great day, also to the Cabinet Secretary Fergus Ewing for officially opening the event.  Then to finish of, I had a tour and some photos at Gilmore Butchers, all very interesting and giving me the opportunity to wear funny hats and jackets and strange things on my feet.

Anyway, of to prepare for more photography, some sports photography in Dunbar, corporate headshots in Edinburgh and some interior photography at the Rocks, phew a lot to take in before my birthday on Saturday.
