Wedding Photographer Scotland and Beyond
Hi All
Another busy week, with a good bit of variety to photograph, including some interior photography in Innerwick, near Dunbar, East Lothian, some preparation for a wedding photography assignment in East Lothian and more infrared photography in Scotland, with my Nikon D800. The great thing about the Nikon, will be the ability to produce high resolution images which will be ideal for my next infrared photography exhibition and will also produce large bespoke fine art framed photography for businesses and hotels etc. As a professional photographer in Scotland I am always on the lookout for photographic and business opportunities and capturing the fine art infrared market is one of my main long term aims. This week I was able to fully utilise the environment, particularly midweek, where the location, in the forest near Foxlake at Dunbar, combined with the strong sunlight, along with blue sky and cloud, proving to be ideal to infrared photography. In the forthcoming week, I also plan, weather permitted, to take some infrared shots at the two weddings I will photograph in the coming weeks and I will start the photographic month of October with a conference photography commission in Glasgow, looking forward to it. This week will see me photographing infrared, PR and newspaper photography and the Supercars at East Fortune at the weekend.

Construction Site, Infrared and Motor Sport Photography
Hi All
Another one of these brilliantly varied weeks as
a professional photographer in Scotland, with a photographic
commission shooting at the St James development construction
site in Edinburgh, very interesting and one of these subjects that most photographers
love to shoot, lots of creative opportunities and I get to
look like Bob the Builder. Later on in the week more infrared
photography, with my new Scottish infrared site at www. edinburghphotographer.com looking good.
Finally, some motor sport photography at the weekend.
Later on next week, some event and conference photography and wedding photography in Edinburgh.

Football Team Photographs, Motor Sport Photography and Infrared Capture
Hi All
A busy week ahead. After an enjoyable commission photographing North Berwick Youth Football team last week. I am off to Edinburgh for some construction site photography, looking forward to that and hoping for some creative opportunities, then a conference photography commission in Glasgow mid-week and finishing with some motor sport photography at the weekend. Variety, that's what keeps us going. I truly believe that whilst you can and specialise to a certain extent and I am a professional photographer from Edinburgh specialising in conference and event photography in Scotland and infrared fine art sales, it is always good to broaden your skills creatively, trying out genres outwith your comfort zone and testing yourself with new equipment. This reminds me, I am now into the swing of obtaining some ultra high resolution photos from my Nikon D800 in infrared. The leap in quality is beginning to show and I have been using the camera on a regular basis now. Infrared Fine Art and More Event Photography in Edinburgh at the Fringe
Hi Everyone
Although its only August, it kind of feels in Scotland that the summer is coming to an end, but never mind, what a cracking summer for infrared photography. Also as a good few weeks event photography at the Edinburgh Festival in Edinburgh comes to an end. I have a had some great photocalls this year that I will remember for a long time, also with the opportunity to shoot some infrared at the Festival. two things I will talk about on this blog, the first is, what kind of weather makes a good infrared photo. Well, you do need a good degree of sunshine, dull overcast days are no use, there will be no reflected sunlight and the shots will be grey and meaningless. I also think you benefit from some dramatic cloud, to create contrast and drama in the photo, hence the reason why I like Scotland, a shower is usually not that far a way. These constant sunshine and blue skies without cloud that you get in the med are not as interesting for infrared. light also reflects on foliage, ie trees, grass etc. The detail you get in metal objects such as cars and planes is ideal for infrared also. So that's just a short summary. The attached infrared photo from Edinburgh shows the cloud theory put into affect.
The next bit of news is my new website at www.edinburghphotographer.com, As an active professional photographer from Edinburgh, I am excited to inform everyone that I am re-launching this site in September, with an entirely new layout and lots of articles and blogs, it will be dedicated to fine art, infrared and landscape photography, with some urban images from Scotland and Europe added to the mix. More news of this soon. The site is currently at https://info694734.wixsite.com/mysite, for on a temporary basis before launch.
Finally, a busy time coming up, with a football club photoshoot at North Berwick, a conference event photography commission in Edinburgh and some construction site photography the following week.
